Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Algenir Mira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ravi Raja!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mira bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mira goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Raja has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mira but great work by Raja.

Raja stands up.
Raja throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A punch combination from Raja misses.

Mira drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Raja trying to control the position.
Mira wants to control from the top but Raja keeps moving.

Raja is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Mira postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Raja is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mira, into his guard.

Mira wants to sweep here but Raja controlling him for the moment.

Raja takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

A close round but Ravi Raja will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Raja takes a swing at Mira's ribcage but misses.

Mira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Raja's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Raja can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mira looks to land a strike but Raja avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Raja utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Mira is looking to advance position but Raja has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Mira sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Mira is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Raja's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Raja's back!

Raja trying to control but not successfully.

Raja is having to fend off submission attempts from Mira, who is looking to sink in the choke. Mira doesn't have the hooks in though and Raja manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Mira wants to sweep here but Raja controlling him for the moment.

Raja is in close to Mira's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mira controls Raja momentarily but Raja frees himself.
Raja is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Mira escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Raja gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Raja trying to control but Mira is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Algenir Mira dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Raja ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mira moves away.
Raja thows a body shot but no joy.
Raja swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mira keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Mira shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Mira is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mira not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Mira wants to free his trapped foot but Raja is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Raja gets back to full guard.
Mira pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Raja is keeping the position for now.
Raja avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Mira is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Raja is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Raja has escaped and now he's on top!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Raja stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mira swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Raja's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Mira escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Raja gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mira tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Raja wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mira throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Mira manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Mira gets back to full guard.
Raja must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

I would just about give that final round to Ravi Raja.
I think Raja has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
