Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gee Gutsu (ranked 2920 p4p, 3078 weight class) and Jay Porter (ranked 376 p4p, 391 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gee Gutsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Porter!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porter misses with a wild combination.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Gutsu takes a shot to the head.

It looks like Gee Gutsu has been cut.
Porter looking for a takedown.
Gutsu jumps guard but Porter turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
A head punch on the inside from Porter fails to land.

Gutsu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Porter uses from the top position.
Porter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gutsu is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gutsu looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Porter gets to his feet. Gutsu looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A telegraphed right hand from Gutsu misses the target.
Gutsu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Porter.

Porter lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gutsu backwards.

Gutsu tries to free his leg and advance position but Porter is retaining full guard.
Porter keeping moving, preventing Gutsu from controlling successfully.
Porter looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Gutsu stops Porter from standing up.
Gutsu wants to pass the guard but Porter is keeping the position.
Porter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Porter told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gutsu tries to free his leg and advance position but Porter is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Porter throws a series of punches but Gutsu avoids them all with ease.
Gutsu's jab looks to have found its range, popping Porter under the eye.
Gutsu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Porter paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A lazy left from Porter finds it's target.
Porter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gutsu manages to avoid it.

Gutsu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Porter to the mat! Porter manages to get full guard.
Gutsu throws a big right hand that misses.
Gutsu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gutsu is looking to advance position but Porter has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Porter wants to control but instead Gutsu manages to regain half guard.
Gutsu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Porter prevents Gutsu from improving his position.
Porter wants to stand but Gutsu has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Porter stands up out of the half guard.
Gutsu is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Porter misses with a two punch combination.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Porter throws a right and a left that both miss.

Gutsu gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Porter throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gutsus head.
Gutsu wants a takedown.
Gutsu wants to stall.

Porter wants the takedown. Gutsu is fighting it off but Porter persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gutsu's guard against the cage.

Gutsu is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Porter defends well.
Gutsu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Porter trying to control the position from guard on top but Gutsu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Porter lands a left and a right that sends Gutsu crashing to the canvas! Porter dives into mount looking to finish!

Gutsu is rocked!
Porter tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gutsu is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gutsu tries to lock up and control but Porter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Gutsu is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Gutsu sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Gutsu wants to get back to full guard.
Gutsu tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Porter has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Porter controlling the position easily from mount.
Gutsu is in all sorts of trouble here.

Porter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gutsu with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Porter wants to stand but Gutsu has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Gutsu is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Punch Out Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Porter lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Gutsu has Porter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Porter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Porter lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Porter jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gutsu walks away with a smile on his face. Porter gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Porter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Porter lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Porter.
Porter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gutsu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gutsu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Porter tries to avoid it but Gutsu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Porter to the ground. Porter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gee Gutsu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Porter with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
A right handed body shot lands from Porter.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Porter scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Jeez, Gee Gutsu's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Porter tries for a takedown but Gutsu manages to get underhooks.

Gutsu has clasped his hands together around Porter's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Porter tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Gutsu in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Porter is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
