Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Thomas Babcock (ranked 2505 p4p, 2634 weight class) and Niels Bohr (ranked 323 p4p, 337 weight class). Babcock comes to the cage accompanied by SS00999. Jesse Thomas Babcock had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jesse Thomas Babcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Niels Bohr!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babcock throws a looping overhand right but Bohr ducks down to avoid it.
Babcock looks to land a left hand but Bohr moved out of range nicely.
Bohr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Babcock shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Babcock swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bohr let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Bohr misses with a looping left.
Babcock shoots in for a takedown but Bohr shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bohr thinks about the counter body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Babcock ducks under a wild hook from Bohr.
Babcock uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bohr.

Babcock uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bohr.
Babcock tries to counter with a takedown but Bohr is quick to defend against it.

Babcock postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Bohr wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Babcock.
Bohr avoids a strike by Babcock and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Babcock's guard! Fantastic escape!
Babcock on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Babcock tries to get out of the position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Babcock wants to sweep here but Bohr controlling him for the moment.

Bohr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Niels Bohr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bohr throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Babcock stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

It looks like Jesse Thomas Babcock has been cut.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesse Thomas Babcock will probably get the nod.

Babcock is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bohr can do to turn this around?

The referee is keeping an eye on Babcock - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Babcock tries to work over Bohr's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Bohr misses with a hook to the ribs.
