Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Ryan Gordon (ranked 2886 p4p, 1867 weight class) and Butch Thighpunch (ranked 370 p4p, 258 weight class). Gordon's entrance music is Immortal! Immortal!! Immortal!!! You're the champion. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Butch Thighpunch!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thighpunch misses with a wild body shot.
Gordon moves away from the strike by Thighpunch.
Thighpunch lands a body shot.
Gordon takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gordon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gordon throws a predictable looking body shot
and Thighpunch counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Ryan Gordon has been cut.
A lazy left from Thighpunch finds it's target.
Thighpunch jabs Gordon to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The fighters circling - Thighpunch throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
It looked like Gordon wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Thighpunch misses the jab.
Thighpunch ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gordon scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Thighpunch slips under a jab.
Thighpunch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gordon.
A little feinted left hand from Gordon on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Thighpunch has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Butch Thighpunch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gordon jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Thighpunch throws a body shot but no joy.
Gordon misses with a straight left.
Gordon ducks under a wild hook from Thighpunch.
It looked like Gordon wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Gordon blocks a jab.
A punch lands to the side of Thighpunch 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Gordon definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Gordon throws a lazy uppercut
and Thighpunch counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Thighpunch moves into range and connects with a jab.

Thighpunch on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Thighpunch staggers Gordon with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Gordon looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gordon drops his guard momentarily, allowing Thighpunch to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Gordon! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Thighpunch takes it!

Butch Thighpunch decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
