Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leg Day!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sensai Kuragi!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day throws a nice inside leg kick.
Day connects with an inside leg kick.
Kuragi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kuragi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Day throws a head kick that half lands.
Day misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice body kick there by Day.
Day throws a head kick but Kuragi moves out of range.

Day is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kuragi is defending well for now.

Day's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kuragi has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Day.
Day connects with a leg kick.
Day lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kuragi takes a step back to recover.
A good leg kick by Day.
Day pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Leg Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kuragi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Leg Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sensai Kuragi.

Both fighters circling a little - Day finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Day throws a head kick that misses.
Kuragi is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Day definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kuragi walks forward, straight into a front kick from Day.
Kuragi has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Day.
Day lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kuragi takes a step back to recover.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
That kick from Day tenderised Kuragi's leg. Kuragi is trying to keep his angry face on.
Day buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Day looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Day moves into the clinch successfully.

Day breaks from the clinch.

and Kuragi counters with a shoot takedown. Day fights it but they end up in guard.

Kuragi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Day is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kuragi, into his guard.


Kuragi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Day postures up in Kuragi's guard and throws a big left but Kuragi blocks it.
Kuragi trying to keep a closed guard but Day is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kuragi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Day is one step ahead there.

Day looking to improve position, pressing down on Kuragi's thigh with his hand. Kuragi seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Day paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Day's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Kuragi picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Sensai Kuragi!
