Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Onni Suominen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marvin Vettori!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vettori lands the left hand.
It looks like Onni Suominen has been cut.
Vettori listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Vettori fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Suominen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Vettori works Suominen's body with a nice hook.
Suominen on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A shot to the liver by Vettori. Beautiful body shot.
Vettori fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vettori's coach down at 88Fight Club Gym88.. 800pw (16 COACHES) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Vettori's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Vettori lands a glancing blow to the side of Suominen's head.
Suominen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Vettori lands a nice looking body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vettori throws a wild body kick that Suominen sees coming a mile off.
Suominen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Suominen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Vettori is able to avoid easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Suominen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vettori.
Vettori lands a left and a right that send Suominen crashing to the mat, dazed. Vettori thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Suominen is rocked!
Suominen throws a predictable looking body shot
and Vettori counters with a thumping low kick.
Oh Suominen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vettori dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Suominen seems to have got his legs back now.
Vettori connects with a body shot.
Suominen is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vettori ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Vettori throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Suominen gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Vettori gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Suominen is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marvin Vettori!
Marvin Vettori really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that New Standard logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
