The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liu lunges at Macker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Macker's hand.
Liu cracks Macker with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Liu throws the kick towards the body but Macker avoids it.
Macker appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

That was a close round but I would say that Dan Macker will probably get the nod.

Macker closes the distance and clinches up with Liu, looking for a takedown. Macker pushes Liu against the cage but Liu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

It looked like Macker wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Horrible takedown attempt by Macker or perhaps it was just good defense by Liu, which made it look bad.
