The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez tries to land a front kick but Rider steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rider avoids the body shot from Jimenez.
Jimenez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jimenez wants it to stay on the feet.
Jimenez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Jimenez clinches up with Rider and pushes him back against the cage.
Rider wants to get back to striking at distance but Jimenez won't allow it.

Jimenez has his foot on Rider's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rider works his way back into a safe position though.

Rider drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Jimenez defends it well.

and Jimenez counters with a shoot takedown. Rider fights it but they end up in guard.
Rider wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jimenez manages to pass to side control.
