Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hayden Allen (ranked 6244 p4p, 4625 weight class) and Adam Mikolaj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayden Allen looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hayden Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Mikolaj!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mikolaj rushes Allen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Allen looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Mikolaj stalling the fight.
Allen is trying to stall.
Allen is looking to take this one to the mat.

Allen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Allen blocks a head kick by Mikolaj.
Allen is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Mikolaj tries to clinch up but Allen circles away and keeps his distance.
We've been hearing reports that Allen has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Mikolaj is working for takedown but Allen is calmly controlling the position for now.

Mikolaj has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Allen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mikolaj avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Mikolaj wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Allen jumps guard but Mikolaj turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Allen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mikolaj is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Mikolaj tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Allen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Mikolaj prevents Allen from breaking the clinch.
Allen tries to pull guard but Mikolaj won't allow it.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Allen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mikolaj is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Allen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Mikolaj jumps guard but Allen stands there with Mikolaj around his waist. Mikolaj gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mikolaj tries for a takedown but Allen manages to get underhooks.
A knee to the head by Allen.
Mikolaj jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Allen walks away with a smile on his face. Mikolaj gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mikolaj fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Allen avoids it really well and circles away.
Allen tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Mikolaj manages to circle out of the way.
Allen slaps away a takedown attempt from Mikolaj, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Allen avoids the head kick by Mikolaj.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mikolaj.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hayden Allen will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Allen has closed the distance and engaged Mikolaj in a clinch.
Mikolaj wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mikolaj is trying to pull guard but Allen has him pressed against the cage.
Mikolaj drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mikolaj manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Mikolaj is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mikolaj should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Mikolaj has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Allen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Allen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Allen trying to control the position from guard on top but Mikolaj is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Mikolaj tries to score a power double leg takedown but Allen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mikolaj somewhat.
Hayden Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Mikolaj.
Mikolaj tries for a takedown but Allen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Allen keeps the fight on the outside.
As Mikolaj looks to move away, Allen throws a big counter combo but Mikolaj just gets out of the way.

Allen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mikolaj just stands there and leans against the cage.
Mikolaj jumps guard but Allen stands there with Mikolaj around his waist. Mikolaj gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mikolaj gets control of Allen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mikolaj will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mikolaj is pulling down on Allen's head. It's preventing any offense from Allen, at least for the moment.
Allen won't allow Mikolaj to sweep him here.
Allen is looking to stand up but Mikolaj won't let him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mikolaj is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Allen trying to control but Mikolaj is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mikolaj pulls Allen in close to prevent any damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Mikolaj really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Allen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Allen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Nice takedown defense from Allen. No joy for Mikolaj on that attempt.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Allen goes for a double leg but Mikolaj avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mikolaj continues to drive forward.
Mikolaj tries to counter with a clinch but Allen shakes him off and moves away.

Mikolaj fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mikolaj wants to break free but Allen has control.
Allen's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Mikolaj breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mikolaj fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Allen to the ground. Mikolaj is now in Allen's guard.
Allen is looking to stand back up but Mikolaj counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Allen.

Mikolaj takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mikolaj with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Allen defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mikolaj.

Mikolaj gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Mikolaj misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Allen.

Adam Mikolaj comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mikolaj has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
