Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sham Wow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sham Wow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paulo Alves!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves misses with a looping right.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Wow lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Alves at a distance.

Alves had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Wow is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alves Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Wow's back instead.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Alves throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Wow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alves is fending him off so far but Wow persists. Nope, Alves circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sham Wow. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Alves is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Wow defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Alves has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Wow has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Sham Wow is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wow, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
