Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dre Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Valquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Battle might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to VICTORY REMIX. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ed Valquez!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valquez jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Battle is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Battle and Valquez has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Battle looks to score with a jab to the body but Valquez is just out of range.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Battle, as that shot connected.
Battle drops Valquez with a left right combo! Battle follows him down to the ground into side control.


Ed Valquez's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Valquez is breathing heavily.
Valquez manages to work his way to half guard, despite Battle's best efforts.

Valquez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Battle but Battle pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Battle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Valquez circles away quickly and effectively.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Valquez closes the distance and clinches up with Battle, looking for a takedown. Valquez pushes Battle against the cage but Battle circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Valquez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Battle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Valquez, into his guard.

Valquez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Battle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Battle wants to get up but he can't break Valquez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Battle has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Battle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valquez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Valquez is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Battle rolls with it to try and escape but Valquez cranks on the arm and Battle is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
