Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Somsak Saetang (ranked 3427 p4p, 2555 weight class) and Akim Afanasy (ranked 0 p4p, 319 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Somsak Saetang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akim Afanasy!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Afanasy feints and as Saetang raises his hands in defense, Afanasy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Afanasy wants to control from the top but Saetang keeps moving.
Saetang is trying to control the position but Afanasy postures up.
Afanasy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saetang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Saetang looking to hit a scissor sweep but Afanasy is one step ahead there.
Saetang will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Afanasy passes into half guard.
Afanasy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Afanasy missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Afanasy passes to side control.
Saetang wants to control but Afanasy postures up.
Afanasy landing strikes.
Saetang tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Afanasy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Saetang is working hard here to advance position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Afanasy scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Saetang to see if he's OK.
Afanasy wants to control but Saetang is keeping him busy.
Afanasy scores with punches from side control.
Afanasy cracks Saetang with a big right hand but Saetang just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Saetang really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Afanasy throws an elbow but Saetang slips to the side and avoids it well.
Afanasy trying to control the action but Saetang is working from the bottom.

Saetang is rocked!
Afanasy scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Saetang is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Afanasy can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akim Afanasy!
