Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Liu Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Jameson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kang might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mortal kombat theme. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kang throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Horrible takedown by Jameson or perhaps it was just good defense by Kang which made him look bad.
Kang stuffs the takedown attempt from Jameson. Jameson gets slowly back to his feet.
Jameson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kang as he jumps to the side.
Liu Kang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Jameson.
Jameson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jameson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jameson is looking for a sweep.
Kang happy to just control the position for now.

Jameson tries to improve position but can't.

Kang in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Jameson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kang's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kang seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jameson for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jameson regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kang postures up and lands a big shot to Jameson's brow.

Jameson is trying to keep Kang in close.
Kang won't allow Jameson to sweep him here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jameson wants to hit a switch here but Kang passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jameson there!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kang cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Liu Kang dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jameson gets caught flat footed, as Kang shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Liu Kang just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Jameson.
Jameson has his takedown stuffed
and Kang counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jameson!
Jameson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Jameson is rocked!
Kang has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jameson's face.
Jameson is still in real trouble! Can Kang finish him?
Kang lands a heavy elbow.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
