The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bling misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bling looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Despite being in the dominant position, Lance Partridge just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Partridge bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks Partridge politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Partridge prefers to stall for the moment though.

I looks like Partridge might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Partridge throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Partridge decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bling to his feet.

Partridge shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bling's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Partridge is pushing down on Bling's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bling is fighting to maintain full guard but Partridge has managed to sneak the leg through.
Well, if Partridge is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Bling looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Partridge! Submission of the night perhaps?
