Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Ward (ranked 1207 p4p, 1877 weight class) and Mikey Marciano (ranked 172 p4p, 253 weight class). Maxim Ward is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maxim Ward!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mikey Marciano!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marciano moves out of range as Ward strikes.
Marciano throws a looping overhand right but Ward ducks down to avoid it.
Ward slips a straight right by Marciano.
Marciano works the jab nicely.
It looks like Maxim Ward has been cut.
Marciano just misses with a punch to the body.
Marciano lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Marciano takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Marciano throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Marciano looks to land a combination but Ward avoids it well.
Ward throwing a counter right hand but Marciano manages to avoid it.
Ward misses with a leg kick.
Ward blocks the body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward throws a hook but Marciano avoids it easily.
Ward throws the left hand but Marciano avoids the punch easily.
Marciano takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
An inside leg kick lands from Ward.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Marciano lands a nice shot that snaps Ward's head back.

letting Ward counter with a right hand.

Marciano jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ward tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Marciano manages to circle out of the way.
Marciano looks to land a body kick but Ward moved away.
Mikey Marciano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Marciano throws a body punch but Ward moves out of range.
Ward darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Marciano thuds his shin into the meat of Ward's side.
Marciano takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Mikey Marciano has been cut.
Ward uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Marciano.
Marciano lands a jab to Ward's midsection.
Marciano misses with an uppercut. Ward saw that one coming.
Ward looks to land a right hand but Marciano moved out of range.
Marciano checks a leg kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ward crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Marciano - the referee stops the clock and Ward gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Marciano. Ward manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Ward fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Marciano.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Ward counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ward shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marciano defends it nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Marciano! But no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ward doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ward slips under a jab from Marciano.
Ward throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Marciano looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Ward tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marciano was well out of range. Poor timing from Ward.
Marciano walks into a left hand.
Marciano throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marciano misses the jab.
Ward throwing a counter right hand but Marciano manages to avoid it.
Ward takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ward seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Marciano digs a good body shot into Ward's ribs.
A left lands for Ward.
Marciano works Ward's body with a nice hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice uppercut lands for Marciano. That snapped Ward's head back.
Ward misses with a looping left.

Marciano connects with the punch.
Ward avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ward throws a jab but it's blocked by Marciano.
Marciano keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Ward throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Maxim Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marciano throws a wild body kick that Ward sees coming a mile off.
Ward wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Ward swings for the body but Marciano moves out of range.
Ward rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Marciano moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A left lands for Ward.
A jab lands there for Ward.
Ward throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Marciano wants to slow Ward down by chopping away at his legs.
Ward stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Marciano.
Marciano misses with a hook. Ward ducked under it nicely.
It looked like Ward wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Marciano throws a big shot that misses.
Marciano keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ward.
Ward throws a quick inside leg kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ward swings for the body but Marciano moves out of range.
Marciano let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
A slow jab from Marciano misses its intended target.
Ward swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Ward looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ward connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mikey Marciano will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Marciano throws the left hand but Ward avoids the punch easily.
Marciano ducks under a wild hook from Ward.
Ward is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Marciano looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Marciano lands a left and a right that send Ward crashing to the mat, dazed. Marciano thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Ward is rocked!
Mikey Marciano seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ward bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Marciano comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Ward falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Ward was out before he hit the floor!

Mikey Marciano tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
