Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerome Winters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charlie Potthast!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winters throws a lazy head kick
enabling Potthast to counter with a crisp jab.
Potthast looks to score with a jab to the body but Winters is just out of range.

Winters closes the distance and clinches.
Winters is trying to pull guard but Potthast has him pressed against the cage.

Winters breaks from the clinch.
We've been told by Winters's head coaches at Canucks Combat Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Winters fails in his attempt to clinch.
Potthast digs a good hook to Winters's body.
Winters tries to close the distance and clinch up but Potthast swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Good exchange - Potthast coming out on top.
Winters lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Potthast circles away quickly and effectively.
Potthast misses with a wild body shot.
Winters moves out of range of the strikes.
Winters is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Potthast is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Winters with a body shot.
Winters throws a right hand that Potthast ducks under and follows up with a left that Potthast also avoids with ease.
Jerome Winters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Winters buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Potthast scores with a nice head shot.
Potthast throws out a loose jab but Winters uses good head movement to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Winters throws a series of strikes that have Potthast backpedaling.
Winters wants to clinch but Potthast slips to the side
and Potthast counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Decent striking displayed by Potthast there.
Winters displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Potthast lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Winters out cold! Winters is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Charlie Potthast!
