PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bisping City (ranked 3000 p4p, 2274 weight class) and Glen Hoddle (ranked 343 p4p, 268 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bisping City!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glen Hoddle!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoddle does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
City is looking to clinch but Hoddle is avoiding it.
City stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hoddle.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as City checks a leg kick.

Hoddle throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Bisping City has been cut.
Hoddle just misses with a punch to the body.
City looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
City showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hoddle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoddle lands with an overhand left.
City shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hoddle pinned against the cage. Hoddle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hoddle turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Hoddle scores with a decent looking hook.
City keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hoddle.
Hoddle scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
A swing and a miss from Hoddle.
City takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hoddle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from City.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bisping City. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hoddle keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

City walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hoddle.
City throws a head kick that misses.

City shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hoddle napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hoddle stops City from passing to mount.
City working away.
City throwing shots but missing, from side control.
City throws an elbow but Hoddle slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hoddle is trying to control City's posture but City avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

City in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Hoddle is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

City decides to stand back up.
Hoddle connects with a good right hand that stumbles City. City circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nice takedown defense from Hoddle. No joy for City on that attempt.
Hoddle throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Hoddle clobbers City with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
City looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Hoddle lands a jab to the head.

City feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hoddle looking for a triangle here. City is fighting it but it looks tight! Hoddle pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, City is tapping out - this one is all over!

After the fight, Glen Hoddle was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
