Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Duarte (ranked 4987 p4p, 5703 weight class) and Tony Viva (ranked 551 p4p, 600 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duarte moves in looking to clinch but Viva pushes him off.
As Duarte backs off Viva throws a huge counter combo but Duarte manages to avoid it all.
Duarte tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Viva swivels and escapes.

Viva closes the distance and clinches.
Duarte takes a shot to the head.
Duarte cracks Viva with a nice body shot.
Viva lands a left hand.
Duarte wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Viva lands a left hand that snaps the head of Duarte backwards.

Duarte escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Duarte moves in looking to clinch but Viva pushes him off.
As Duarte backs off Viva throws a huge counter combo but Duarte manages to avoid it all.

Viva gets a clinch.
Viva lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Duarte tries to land knees in the clinch but Viva avoids the damage to the body.
A nice left hand lands by Viva.
Duarte is trying to force a seperation but Viva has the dominant position.
Viva lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Duarte takes a shot to the head.
Duarte is trying to push Viva away but Viva has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Viva gets control of Duarte's arms and successfully pulls guard. Viva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Duarte chips away with some ground and pound.
Viva tries to strike from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Viva is on top in guard.

Duarte knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Viva on the ground.
Duarte wants to stand and escape but Viva is having none of it.
Duarte seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Viva gets to his feet. Duarte looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Duarte throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Viva.
Duarte misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Duarte wants to clinch.
Viva is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Duarte lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Viva circles away quickly and effectively.

Viva closes the distance and clinches.
Duarte can't break the clinch.

Duarte breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tony Viva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Duarte shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Viva but Viva pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A left and a right from Viva both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Francisco Duarte has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Viva slips a jab and a cross from Duarte.
Duarte is breathing heavily.
Viva lands a lovely overhand right.
Viva lands with a big right hook that stumbles Duarte - he's out on his feet here! Viva follows up with another monster hook that separates Duarte from consciousness! Duarte falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Viva stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
