Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tito Valasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Julen Pandiani!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Valasquez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pandiani uses from the top position.

Valasquez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pandiani is on top in guard.

Pandiani would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Valasquez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pandiani is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Valasquez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pandiani's back instead.
Valasquez is not going to allow Pandiani to sit and survive in this position.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Valasquez gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Valasquez apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Valasquez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pandiani tries to avoid it but Valasquez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pandiani to the ground. Pandiani escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Valasquez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Pandiani has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
