Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles Doty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Waddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charles Doty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Waddell!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Waddell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Waddell trying to pass the guard but Doty defending well.
Doty slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Doty wants to get back to his feet but Waddell is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Doty has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Doty is trying to keep Waddell in close.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Doty trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Doty wants to sweep but no luck.
Waddell wants to stand but Doty is controlling his posture from full guard.
Doty is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Waddell won't allow Doty to sweep him here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Waddell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Doty but Doty pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Doty moves into the clinch.

Doty pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Doty tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Waddell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Waddell takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Doty closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Waddell is not content to let Doty control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Doty seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Doty is stalling here. Waddell is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Doty seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Waddell has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Waddell prevents Doty from escaping the position.
Doty looking for a sweep but Waddell has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Doty has given up his back here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Waddell doesn't have the hooks in and Doty manages to turn into his guard.
Doty slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Doty slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charles Doty dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Doty lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A thudding body kick lands there by Doty!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee calls for Doty to work.

Doty is trying to trip Waddell. He has hold of a leg but Waddell is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Doty persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Doty wants to control from the top but Waddell keeps moving.

Doty gets to his feet - Waddell follows without any prompting.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A head kick misses from Doty.

Doty darts in and clinches Waddell up against the cage.
Doty fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Doty breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Doty fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Charles Doty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Doty gets the takedown into side control.
Doty laying and praying for a moment but Waddell takes advantage and regains half guard.
Doty is looking to stall here but Waddell recovers full guard.

Doty wants to pass the guard but Waddell is keeping the position.
Waddell being controlled here, momentarily.

Doty wants to control from the top but Waddell keeps moving.
Doty seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Doty is pushing down on Waddell's leg trying to pass to half guard. Waddell is fighting to maintain full guard but Doty has managed to sneak the leg through.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Charles Doty just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Doty has managed to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Doty moves into range and clinches up with Waddell.

Doty's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Doty looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Waddell!
Doty tries to control but Waddell wriggling away.
Waddell tries to hold on but Doty pushes him away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Doty landing shots from mount.
Waddell is squirming around, avoiding Doty's attempts to control the action.
Doty landing strikes, looking to finish!
Doty trying to control but Waddell is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Waddell is looking to improve his position but Doty isn't that keen on the idea.
Doty lands a big elbow.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Doty cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Doty in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

A nice elbow there by Doty.

Doty jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Waddell manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Doty stands up.

Doty has closed the distance and engaged Waddell in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Doty jumps guard and drags Waddell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Doty is on top in guard.

Doty stands up from Waddell's guard - Doty perhaps looking for a knockout.

Doty gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
William Waddell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Charles Doty is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Waddell wants to break free but Doty has control.
Waddell tries a knee to the head but Doty blocks it.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Doty has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
