Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marek Cervenka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jeryl Christ!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cervenka fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Cervenka rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Christ counters with a two punch combo.
Cervenka looks to throw the jab but Christ is out of range.
Cervenka lands a nice looking body shot.
Cervenka throws a shot from downtown. Christ moves away and avoids it.
Cervenka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Cervenka changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Christ looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Christ is trying to buck Cervenka off.
Christ felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Christ is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cervenka has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee asks Cervenka politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cervenka prefers to stall for the moment though.

Cervenka's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Cervenka throws out a loose jab but Christ uses good head movement to avoid it.
Christ steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cervenka.

Christ leaves Cervenka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

We've been told by Cervenka's head coaches at Brloh that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Cervenka swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Christ scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Cervenka looks to land a left hand but Christ moved out of range nicely.
Cervenka throws a lazy uppercut
and Cervenka takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Christ counters with a big right hand! Oh Cervenka is in trouble here! Christ follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
