PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Night Lights (ranked 3254 p4p, 3373 weight class) and Maks Teller (ranked 359 p4p, 374 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Night Lights!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maks Teller!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lights pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Teller pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Teller scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Teller stuns Lights with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Teller throws a jab when Lights was well out of range.
Lights tries to clinch up.
Teller throws a solid leg kick but Lights takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Teller.
Teller cracks Lights with a right hand to the side of the head.
Teller changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Lights takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Lights's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Teller connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lights scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Teller will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jab by Teller.
Teller has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lights is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Lights staying out of range there.
Teller tries to score with a low kick but Lights moves his leg out of the way.
Teller just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromLights.
Lights changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Teller tries to avoid it but Lights manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Teller to the ground. Teller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lights definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Teller attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Lights changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
The fighters circle momentarily. Teller darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Teller steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lights.
Teller throws a big shot that misses.
Lights appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Teller fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Lights misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lights is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Teller looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Donk. Teller catches Lights right on the button with a cross.
Teller lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Teller keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lights has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Teller finds it's way round the side to connect with Lights's head.
Teller tests Lights's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lights throws a head kick but Teller moves out of range.
Lights shoots in looking for a takedown. Teller tries to sprawl out of it but Lights keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Teller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Teller tests Lights's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Teller lands with a right hand.
Teller tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lights sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Teller somewhat.
Teller displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lights.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Night Lights. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Teller lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Maks Teller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lights takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Teller getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Lights on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Lights is rocked!
Teller connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Oh Lights is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Teller fakes the body blow, causing Lights to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Lights goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Maks Teller!
Maks Teller bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Night Lights was interviewed post fight and said 'Losing is part of learning, you will never be one of the great in your craft if you didn't experience losing.'.
