Rodriguez has chosen Latin Lingo as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pentele keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown but Pentele shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rodriguez looks for a takedown but Pentele sprawls well.
Pentele was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Paska Pentele has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Rodriguez.
Rodriguez shoots in looking for a takedown but Pentele manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodriguez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Rodriguez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pentele sprawls well initially but Rodriguez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Pentele tries to roll over but Rodriguez keeps him under control.
Rodriguez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pentele is just riding it out for now. Rodriguez eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
