Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kirill Berkut (ranked 4595 p4p, 24333 weight class) and Dino Rex (ranked 387 p4p, 0 weight class). Dino Rex is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kirill Berkut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dino Rex!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Berkut shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rex's guard.
Berkut controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Berkut could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Berkut thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Berkut is working Rex over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Rex is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rex wants to stand but Berkut is controlling the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Berkut might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Berkut drops back looking for a leg! Rex is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rex manages to kick Berkut off! Berkut jumps back into Rex's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Berkut's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Berkut postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Berkut throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Rex avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Rex really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Berkut. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Berkut is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Berkut throws a leg kick but Rex checks it.

Berkut gets a takedown into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Berkut looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rex with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Rex keeps the fight on the outside.
Berkut dives in for a single leg takedown but Rex sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Rex is trying to maintain a safe position but Berkut gets an underhook and turns Rex into the cage.
Berkut is trying to pull guard but Rex turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Rex lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Berkut jumps guard but Rex stands there with Berkut around his waist. Berkut gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kirill Berkut. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Rex obliges.
Berkut tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rex just stands there and leans against the cage.

Berkut jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rex walks away with a smile on his face. Berkut gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Rex counters with a head kick. That will keep Berkut thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Rex is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Berkut darts in looking for a takedown but Rex gets double underhooks and turns Berkut into the cage.
Nice elbow from Rex.
Berkut tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rex smiles and moves away.
Berkut fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Berkut is looking to clinch but Rex is avoiding it.
Rex checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Rex wants to counter the offense by Berkut and move into the clinch position.

and Rex counters with a thumping low kick.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Berkut.

Rex raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

and Rex counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rex.
Berkut is trying to pull guard but Rex has him pressed against the cage.
Rex landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Berkut jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rex walks away with a smile on his face. Berkut gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Rex gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Berkut to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Berkut is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Berkut is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Berkut not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dino Rex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Horrible takedown attempt by Berkut or perhaps it was just good defense by Rex, which made it look bad.

and Rex counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kirill Berkut. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Berkut shoots in looking for a takedown. Rex tries to sprawl out of it but Berkut keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rex manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Berkut is standing up over Rex. Rex looks to escape but Berkut dives into side control.


Berkut is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rex looks calm but he's in trouble here. Berkut gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rex is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Berkut lets go of the hold and Rex can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kirill Berkut!
Kirill Berkut decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
