Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Peterson (ranked 533 p4p, 152 weight class) and Ife Edwards (ranked 83 p4p, 25 weight class). Edwards has chosen Damian Marley - Road to Zion as his entrance music. George Peterson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ife Edwards's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ife Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ben Hemmingworth and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson tries to clinch
and Edwards cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like George Peterson has been cut.
Peterson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
George Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peterson takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Edwards avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Edwards! But no joy.
Peterson slips under a jab.
Edwards getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Edwards tries to land a front kick but Peterson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Peterson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Edwards takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Ife Edwards has been cut.
Edwards working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Nice body punch from Peterson - that landed with a thud.
Edwards tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Edwards gets through Peterson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Peterson tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Edwards makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Edwards's coach down at Casa Steel was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Edwards's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Peterson just misses with a punch to the body.

Peterson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Peterson is looking to clinch.
Edwards throws a jab but it's blocked by Peterson.
Peterson misses the shot to the body.
Peterson walks into a left hand.
Peterson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Edwards manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Peterson lands with a shot to the body.
Peterson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
The fight stays on the outside here - Peterson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Peterson jabs Edwards to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Peterson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Peterson tries to close the distance and clinch but Edwards swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round.

A slow jab from Peterson misses its intended target.
Edwards looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Edwards misses with a looping right.
Peterson looks to land a left hand but Edwards moved out of range nicely.
Peterson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Edwards counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Edwards counters with a right hand to the body.
Both fighters circling a little - Edwards finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Edwards blocks a jab.
Edwards drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A swing and a miss from Peterson.

Peterson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Peterson throws a jab but it's blocked by Edwards.
Peterson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Peterson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Peterson misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Edwards counters with a huge left! Peterson is in big trouble! He's backing up but Edwards isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Peterson from any more damage. A dominating finish by Edwards!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ife Edwards!
