Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Daaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Tuffnuts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daaz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Meshuggah - Mind's Mirror. The key to victory for Nick Daaz has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tuffnuts swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Daaz is now in Tuffnuts's guard. A big mistake from Tuffnuts there, giving up the dominant position!
Daaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tuffnuts on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tuffnuts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
You can see the frustration on Tuffnuts's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Daaz gets to mount! Tuffnuts was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Tuffnuts tries to lock up and control but Daaz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Tuffnuts is desperately trying to improve his position but Daaz has a good base and remains in mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tuffnuts is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Tuffnuts throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Daaz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Tuffnuts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Daaz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Daaz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tuffnuts has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Daaz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Tuffnuts.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Daaz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Tuffnuts shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Daaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tuffnuts moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
