Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Nomak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Beric Collins!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nomak drops Collins with a beautiful combination! Collins stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Nomak is looking for the KO!

It looks like Beric Collins has been cut.

Nomak feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Collins sprawling to the canvas! Collins rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Nomak finish him?!

Collins is rocked!

That has opened up Beric Collins's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Collins rushes Nomak and presses him up against the cage.
Nomak struggles to land a body shot inside as Collins controls his hands.

Collins breaks the clinch.
Collins throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Collins takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Nice defenses there by Nomak.
Nomak shoots for a takedown but Collins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nomak lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Collins backs up against the cage.
Collins misses with the combination.
Collins has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Nomak takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A swing and a miss from Collins.
A big left from Collins misses.
Nomak throws a right and a left that Collins avoids nicely.
Nomak ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Nomak has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Canucks Combat Club in the buildup to the fight.
Collins throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Nomak gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Collins.

The cut above Beric Collins's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
A lazy left from Collins finds it's target.

It looks like Frank Nomak has been cut.
Collins misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nomak.
Nomak circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nomak tries to close the distance and clinch but Collins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nomak misses with a jab, cross combination.
Collins throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Collins misses with a wild body shot.
Nomak slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Nomak swings for the body but Collins moves out of range.
Collins pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Collins displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Collins looks winded!
Nomak throws a right and a left that both miss.
Collins takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nomak takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Nomak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Collins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nomak misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A right-left combo lands from Nomak.

Collins clinches.
Collins works on Nomak's body with a couple of short punches.

Nomak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nomak takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Collins misses the shot to the body.
Collins lands a jab to Nomak's midsection.
Collins lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Collins ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A combination from Collins does no damage.
Nomak misses with a double jab
and Collins counters with a series of strikes. Nomak will be more careful next time no doubt.
Collins throws a shot to the body.
Collins throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Nomak is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Collins thuds a left hand into Nomak's body.

Nomak has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nomak there as he acknowledges the shot.
Collins fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nomak looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nomak throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Collins takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nomak fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Collins manages to avoid it.
Collins looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Collins is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Collins lands with a right hand.
Collins with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Danga de danga de dang - Collins scores with a four punch combination!

Nomak is rocked!

Frank Nomak's cut is getting worse.

Collins takes the fight into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Collins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Collins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nomak moves away from the strike by Collins.
Nomak misses with a combination
and Collins counters with a nice uppercut.
Oh Nomak is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Collins lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Nomak falls backwards - clearly groggy! Collins dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Beric Collins!
