The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valdealez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Caceres quickly recovers to half guard.
Caceres misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Caceres has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Valdealez is working away from the top position though.
Valdealez lands strikes from half guard.
Valdealez is taking a breather. Caceres says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Valdealez winds up and cracks Caceres with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Valdealez in particular looking to stall.

Valdealez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Caceres has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Valdealez has managed to get both his arms back between Caceres's legs - danger averted.
Caceres is trying to control the position but Valdealez postures up.
