Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edward Smart (ranked 1964 p4p, 1944 weight class) and Cathal O Doherty (ranked 219 p4p, 215 weight class). Smart kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Heartless. Cathal O Doherty will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edward Smart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cathal O Doherty!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Doherty lands a jab to the nose.
O Doherty stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Smart shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
O Doherty throws out a counter right but Smart avoids it with no problem.
O Doherty circles away from the clinch attempt
and O Doherty counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smart shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and O Doherty counters with a good, hard body kick but Smart shrugs it off.
O Doherty changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
O Doherty staying out of range there.
O Doherty let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
O Doherty tests Smart's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Cathal O Doherty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Doherty cracks Smart with a right hand to the side of the head.
Smart gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
O Doherty gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Smart.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward Smart. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smart wants to stall.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round.
O Doherty lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Smart backwards.
O Doherty lands an elbow that stopped Smart in his tracks for a moment.
Smart is rocked!
It looks like Edward Smart has been cut.
O Doherty lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Oh Smart is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
O Doherty lands with a left to the head.
O Doherty lands a big right hand that drops Smart! The killer instinct kicks in and O Doherty finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by O Doherty!
