PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Macuhica Perlain (ranked 4457 p4p, 4490 weight class) and Tom Hantz (ranked 0 p4p, 533 weight class). Perlain's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Final Countdown. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hantz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Perlain defends it nicely.

Perlain throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hantz swings for the body but Perlain moves out of range.
As Hantz looks to move away, Perlain throws a big counter combo but Hantz just gets out of the way.

Hantz is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Perlain has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Hantz really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Perlain.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perlain is trying to get back to his feet but Hantz has full control of the position and if anything, Perlain has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Hantz misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

You get the feeling that Perlain really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Perlain is wriggling around trying to escape.

Hantz is working for a guillotine from mount but Perlain frees his head quite easily.
