These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lavigne sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten One somewhat.

One gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lavigne misses with a shot to the kidneys.
One is looking for a takedown.
One is looking to take this one to the mat.

One gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lavigne regains guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
One controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
One wants to control from the top but Lavigne keeps moving.

One has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

One wants to work for an arm triangle but Lavigne is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

One looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

One is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
