The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abebe Wedu throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jones moves away from the strike by Abebe Wedu.
Jones connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Abebe Wedu momentarily.

Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jones drops an elbow to the side of Abebe Wedu's head.

Jones escapes and gets back to his feet.
Abebe Wedu just misses with a punch to the body.
Abebe Wedu misses the jab.
Jones lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones lands strikes from half guard.
Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Abebe Wedu with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Abebe Wedu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jones unloads with some huge strikes here! Abebe Wedu is out! Jones wins by brutal knockout!
