The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kriger rushes Fedor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kriger lands a right hand.

Kriger drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fedor gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Fedor takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Fedor is not content to let Kriger control the position.
Fedor tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kriger wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kriger remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Fedor tries to get back to half guard but can't.
