Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vect Nokru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Theron Roark!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nokru fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Roark, pushing him back against the cage.
Roark managing to block the knees to the body from Nokru.
Roark tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Nokru manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Nokru works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Roark avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Roark wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nokru controlling from the top position.
Nokru advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nokru is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Roark is just riding it out for now. Nokru eventually gives up the hold.
Nokru wants to pass the guard but Roark is defending well.
Roark is trying to control but Nokru passes into side control!
Nokru moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Nokru trying to control the position but Roark is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nokru controlling from side mount.
Roark tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sloppy strikes there by Nokru.
Nokru is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Roark will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Nokru trying to control the position but Roark is working away.
Roark is looking to reverse the position.
Roark can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nokru working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Roark is trying to improve his position.
Sloppy strikes there by Nokru.
Nokru throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Roark is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Roark manages to get to full guard.
Roark is controlling Nokru's posture.
Roark is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Nokru frees his head nicely. Oh but Roark has switched to an armbar! Nokru is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
