PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Enzo Can (ranked 5943 p4p, 3671 weight class) and William Wallin (ranked 608 p4p, 460 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Enzo Can!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, William Wallin!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wallin clinches.
Wallin misses with a hook from the clinch.
Can wants to break free but Wallin has control.
Can is trying to break the clinch but Wallin is controlling him.
Wallin scores with a shoulder strike.
Wallin working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Can blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Can.
Wallin lands with a short shot to the head.
Wallin lands a hook to the side of the head.
Wallin lands with a right to the head.
Can tries to pull guard but Wallin forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Can lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Wallin or not.
Wallin lands with a left to the head.

It looks like Enzo Can has been cut.

Can pulls guard successfully.
Wallin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wallin's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Can working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wallin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wallin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Can is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wallin is controlling him.
Wallin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Can. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Can controls Wallin momentarily but Wallin frees himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Can had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wallin defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Can is breathing heavily.
Wallin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Can is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wallin defends well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Wallin darts in and clinches Can up against the cage.
Wallin lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Can backwards.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wallin lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Wallin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Can backwards.

Can really is a fat lump.
Wallin pushes Can back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Wallin scores with a shot to the side of Can's head.
Wallin scores with a nice hook to the head.
Wallin lands with a right to the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Wallin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Wallin throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Cans head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wallin gets through Can's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Can is rocked!
Wallin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Can backwards.
Oh Can is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wallin lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Wallin creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Can's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Can drops to his knees and Wallin pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Wallin!
