Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ezekiel Broomsdale (ranked 1222 p4p, 2420 weight class) and Dougie McFistface (ranked 177 p4p, 305 weight class). Broomsdale comes to the cage accompanied by Masta. McFistface has chosen Tiptoe Through The Tulips as his entrance music. Ezekiel Broomsdale has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dougie McFistface!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Chris Dean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFistface takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Nice defenses there by McFistface.
McFistface is looking for the big counter here.
McFistface moves away from the strike by Broomsdale.
McFistface was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Broomsdale lands a really nice looking cross but McFistface seems unphased.

Broomsdale looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

McFistface takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Broomsdale throws a push kick but McFistface slaps the foot to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McFistface closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McFistface lands in his opponent's guard.

McFistface drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McFistface jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw McFistface working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

McFistface thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Broomsdale manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McFistface manages to get himself to full guard.

Broomsdale will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

McFistface is looking for a triangle here but Broomsdale uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A lull in the action here as Broomsdale stalls from top position.
You can see the frustration on McFistface's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
McFistface is not content to let Broomsdale control the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and McFistface counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Broomsdale is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Broomsdale wants to advance to full mount but McFistface doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
McFistface pulls Broomsdale in close to his closed guard and prevents Broomsdale from doing any damage or advancing position.

McFistface tries to score a power double leg takedown but Broomsdale sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McFistface somewhat.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Broomsdale.
McFistface wants to counter with a clinch but Broomsdale pushes him away.

and McFistface counters with a nice leg kick.
Broomsdale scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Broomsdale uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

McFistface tries to close the distance and clinch but Broomsdale swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Broomsdale fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McFistface has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

A looping hook to the body misses from Broomsdale. McFistface does a little dance to reset his feet.
McFistface is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Broomsdale has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McFistface is working away from the top position though.
McFistface is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McFistface lands a nice short elbow.

McFistface lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Broomsdale! More strikes land and this one is all over! McFistface jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
