Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wilbur Ratt (ranked 2551 p4p, 2609 weight class) and Razor Ramano (ranked 293 p4p, 301 weight class). Razor Ramano is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wilbur Ratt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Razor Ramano!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ratt doesn't manage to clinch there - Ramano circles away.
Ramano looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Ramano throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ratt.
Ratt moves forwards but Ramano connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Ramano throws a head kick but Ratt moves out of range.
Ratt chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ramano can pounce on him.
Ratt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Ramano wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

I was talking to Ratt's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ramano. Ratt does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ratt tries to close the distance and clinch but Ramano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
It seemed like Ramano was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Ratt throws a hook to the side of Ramano's head but Ramano sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ramano loads up on a big right hand but Ratt slips the punch.

Ratt throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ramano sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ramano throws a jab but it's blocked by Ratt.
The fighters circling - Ratt throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Ramano takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ramano misses with a left hand
and Ratt counters with a stiff right hand.
Ratt fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ramano on the side of the head.
Ramano misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ratt checks a leg kick.
Ratt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ramano paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ramano lands a front kick.
Ramano shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
A punch combination from Ratt misses.
Ratt jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ramano lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Ramano fails to land with a series of punches.
Ratt lands with a nice body punch.
A nice inside leg kick there by Ramano. That's going to slow Ratt down.

and Ramano counters with a lovely straight right hand!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ramano misses with a low kick.
Ratt swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Ramano ducks under a wild hook from Ratt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ratt is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Ratt avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ratt ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ratt keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ramano.
Ratt wants to clinch up but Ramano keeps it at a distance.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ramano! But no joy.
Ratt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ramano.
Ratt takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ratt is rocked!

Ramano looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Ramano backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Ratt's temple! It sends Ratt violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Ramano celebrates and the doctors try to help Ratt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Razor Ramano!
