PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luther Jackson (ranked 1929 p4p, 1654 weight class) and Stefan Muller (ranked 256 p4p, 225 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jackson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Come As You Are - Nirvana. Muller is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Samourai - by: Shurik'n. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stefan Muller!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muller throws a shot from downtown. Jackson moves away and avoids it.
Jackson avoids the body shot from Muller.
Jackson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Muller tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Muller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Muller looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Jackson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Muller.
Muller throws a lazy right hand but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Jackson shoots in for a double leg but Muller sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Muller looks to land a left hand but Jackson moved out of range nicely.
Jackson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Muller lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Jackson is looking to pass into half guard but Muller pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Muller is in guard.

Jackson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Muller must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Muller not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather.

Muller is nestled in close to Jackson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like Luther Jackson has been cut.
Jackson has hold of Muller's hands but Muller slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Jackson pulls Muller in close to his closed guard and prevents Muller from doing any damage or advancing position.

Jackson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Muller manages to get himself to full guard.

Jackson is fighting to break Muller's control of his arms but Muller is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Let's hope that Muller has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
