Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Evertts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evertts swats away the attempt to clinch by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is looking to clinch but Evertts is avoiding it.
Evertts fails with the takedown.
Rodriguez wants to clinch up but Evertts keeps it at a distance.
Evertts blocks a low kick nicely.

Evertts fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rodriguez, pushing him back against the cage.

Evertts turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Evertts manages to end up in side control.

Rodriguez throws the kick towards the body but Evertts avoids it.

and Evertts counters with a one-two to the body.
Evertts looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rodriguez is fending him off so far but Evertts persists. Nope, Rodriguez circles away and we're back to standing.

and Evertts counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Rodriguez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Evertts wants to sweep here but Rodriguez controlling him for the moment.

Evertts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodriguez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

With the fighters up against the cage, Rodriguez throws an elbow but misses.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rodriguez misses with a takedown attempt

and Evertts counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rodriguez!
Rodriguez wants to control but Evertts is having none of it.

Evertts moves into range and clinches up with Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Rodriguez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Evertts pulls his leg out and moves away.

Evertts decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rodriguez, up you get!

Evertts scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Evertts shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rodriguez but Rodriguez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Evertts closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Evertts wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rodriguez keeps working.

Well Evertts has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
