Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Sapo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Steel!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel throws a jab but it's blocked by Sapo.
Steel lands a jab to the nose.
Steel misses with a body punch

and Sapo counters with a crisp one two that drops Steel! Sapo thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Steel to his feet! Steel is in big trouble!

Steel is rocked!
Sapo ducks under a wild hook from Steel.
Sapo swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Steel is still on wobbly legs! Can Sapo finish him?
Steel throws an overhand right that lands on Sapo's shoulder, as Sapo tries to avoid the shot.
Sapo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Steel seems to have recovered his senses.
Steel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Steel scores with a sloppy right hand. Sapo should have avoided that one.
A shot to the liver by Steel. Beautiful body shot.
Steel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sapo.
Steel lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Steel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Steel lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sapo at a distance.
Steel looks to land a right hand but Sapo moved out of range.
Steel showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sapo.
A punch lands to the side of Sapo 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The fighters circling - Steel throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Sapo misses with a left hand
and Steel counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Steel lands with a right hand.
Steel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sapo manages to avoid it.

Sapo swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
We've been hearing reports that Sapo has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Steel misses the shot to the body.
It looked like Sapo was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Steel cracks Sapo with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Sapo looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Steel finish him?

Oh Sapo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

It looks like Daniel Steel has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sapo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Steel swivels and escapes.
Sapo slips a straight right by Steel.

Sapo seems to have got his legs back now.
Steel misses with a lunging right hand

and Sapo counters with a single leg into guard. Steel didn't expect that.
Sapo is looking to work some ground and pound but Steel has wrist control.

Steel is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Steel's corner calls for a 1-2. Steel obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Steel looks to throw the jab but Sapo is out of range.
Sapo appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Danga de danga de dang - Sapo scores with a four punch combination!
Steel is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sapo had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Steel misses with a straight right.
Sapo swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Steel throws a hook to the side of Sapo's head but Sapo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sapo is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Steel's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Sapo moves away from the strike by Steel.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sapo takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Steel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Steel missing with a left hand there. Sapo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Sapo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sapo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Sapo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steel on the ground.
Sapo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Steel down.
Sapo in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Steel looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Sapo turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rob Sapo!
An out of breath Rob Sapo thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
