Volkov comes to the cage accompanied by Rasputin - Boney M.. The crowd seem to be enjoying Koromos's choice of entrance music: Matthew Parker - Signal (SPES INVICTA Remix). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Koromos!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koromos misses with a looping left.
Koromos throws a jab but it's blocked by Volkov.
Koromos lands a glancing blow to the side of Volkov's head.
Volkov throws a sloppy head kick
and Koromos counters with a good low kick that Volkov was not able to check.
Koromos throws a quick inside leg kick.
Koromos throws a jab when Volkov was well out of range.
And Volkov counters with a quick kick to the body but Koromos blocks it.
Koromos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Koromos closes the distance and clinches.
Koromos displaying some good clinch control by pressing Volkov up against the cage.

Volkov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koromos throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
As Koromos backs away, Volkov returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Volkov misses with a hook.
Koromos has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Volkov is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Koromos throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Volkov tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Koromos misses with a wild combination.
Koromos bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Volkov's head.
Volkov throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Volkov slips under a jab from Koromos.
Koromos takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Volkov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Volkov throws the left hand but Koromos avoids the punch easily.
Volkov moves away from the strike by Koromos.

and Volkov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like John Koromos has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Koromos looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Volkov dodges the punch combination from Koromos.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
