PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Higanti Libat (ranked 6229 p4p, 25311 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Higanti Libat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Libat stuffs the takedown.
Libat quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Libat tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sapi thinks about the counter body kick.
Sapi misses with a takedown attempt - Libat sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And Libat counters with a quick kick to the body but Sapi blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sapi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Libat wants to control but Sapi postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Libat changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sapi tries to avoid it but Libat manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sapi to the ground. Sapi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sapi steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

and Libat counters with a single leg into guard. Sapi didn't expect that.
Higanti Libat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wala Sapi.
Sapi is pulling down on Libat's head. It's preventing any offense from Libat, at least for the moment.
Libat is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That was a close round but I would say that Higanti Libat will probably get the nod.

Sapi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Libat circles away.

Libat shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sapi napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sapi is holding Libat down, trying to stall.

Libat moves out of range of the body kick.
And Libat counters with a quick kick to the body but Sapi blocks it.
Libat shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sapi sprawls well. Sapi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Libat gets slowly back to his feet.
As Libat backs off Sapi throws a huge counter combo but Libat manages to avoid it all.

Libat fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sapi avoids it really well and circles away.
Wala Sapi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Higanti Libat is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
