The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motts lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Newton at a distance.
Decent striking displayed by Newton there.
Newton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Motts is fending him off so far but Newton persists. Nope, Motts circles away and we're back to standing.
Newton goes for a double leg but Motts avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Motts continues to drive forward.
