PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rikz Moon (ranked 4451 p4p, 4452 weight class) and Rikz Densetsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rikz Moon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rikz Densetsu!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Densetsu misses with a kick to the body.
Densetsu slaps away a takedown attempt from Moon, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Moon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Densetsu misses with an elbow over the top.
Densetsu wants a takedown.
Moon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Moon working Densetsu over with knees to the body.
Densetsu is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Moon is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Densetsu is trying to pull guard but Moon turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Densetsu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Moon throws a nice looking combination but Densetsu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Moon moves into range and clinches up with Densetsu.

Densetsu is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Rikz Moon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rikz Densetsu.

Moon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Densetsu has taken the fight to the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Densetsu trying to stall but Moon improves his position.
Densetsu stops a takedown attempt from Moon.

Moon fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Densetsu is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Moon gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Densetsu avoids the head kick by Moon.
Densetsu shoots in looking for a takedown but Moon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Densetsu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Densetsu moves in looking to clinch but Moon pushes him off.
Densetsu closes the distance looking to clinch
and Moon counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Moon tries to score a body lock takedown but Densetsu shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Densetsu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Densetsu is looking to clinch but Moon is avoiding it.
Moon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Moon closes the distance and clinches.
Densetsu tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Moon smiles and moves away.

Moon stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Densetsu takes a shot to the head.
Moon will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Densetsu up against the cage.
Densetsu changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Moon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Densetsu is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Moon lands a jab-cross combination.
Nice sprawl there from Moon as Densetsu shoots in.
Densetsu leaves Moon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Moon blocks an uppercut.
Moon keeps control of Densetsu as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Densetsu is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Moon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Moon has escaped and now he's on top!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That's time! Moon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Densetsu darts in looking for a takedown but Moon gets double underhooks and turns Densetsu into the cage.

Densetsu closes the distance and pushes Moon back into the cage.

Moon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Densetsu wants to clinch up but Moon keeps it at a distance.
Densetsu misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Moon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Densetsu has had enough of the clinch but Moon keeps him there for the moment.

Moon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Densetsu defends it easily.

Moon is looking for a triangle but Densetsu pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moon looking for a guillotine here but Densetsu defends easily.
Moon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Densetsu manages to get himself to full guard.

Densetsu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Moon is one step ahead there.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Densetsu wants to stand up but Moon is controlling him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A solid leg kick lands there for Moon.

Densetsu moves in looking to clinch but Moon pushes him off.

Densetsu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Moon as he jumps to the side.

Densetsu doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Moon counters with a two punch combo.
Densetsu tries to clinch but Moon moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Densetsu.
Moon shoots in looking for a takedown but Densetsu manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Moon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Moon. Densetsu does a little dance to reset his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Densetsu is defended easily by Moon.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Moon gets caught flat footed, as Densetsu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Densetsu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Moon tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Densetsu manages to circle out of the way.

Densetsu gets tackled into the cage by Moon. Moon maintains the clinch.

Moon manages to break the clinch.
Rikz Moon is winning the standup battle so far.

Moon rushes Densetsu and presses him up against the cage.
Moon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Densetsu avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Moon breaks from the clinch.
Moon tries to clinch but Densetsu moves out of range.
Densetsu dives in for a single leg takedown but Moon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Moon misses with a takedown attempt - Densetsu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
As Moon backs off Densetsu throws a huge counter combo but Moon manages to avoid it all.
Densetsu throws a head kick that misses.

Moon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Densetsu moves into the clinch.

Moon pulls guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Moon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Densetsu is holding on to half guard well.
Moon stops Densetsu from getting back to his feet.

Densetsu is pressing down on Moon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Moon is stalling in the full guard.
Moon postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moon advances position into side control!
Moon is looking to take a break and control but Densetsu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Moon tries to move into full mount but can't pass Densetsu's legs.
Moon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Densetsu can do to turn this around?

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Moon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Densetsu keeps working.
Densetsu is looking for a sweep.

Moon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Moon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Moon tries to move into full mount but can't pass Densetsu's legs.
Rikz Densetsu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rikz Moon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Densetsu throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rikz Moon showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Moon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
