Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Fish (ranked 5660 p4p, 3683 weight class) and Gazali Koekemoer (ranked 595 p4p, 470 weight class). Jim Fish could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Gazali Koekemoer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Fish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gazali Koekemoer!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Fish lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Koekemoer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Koekemoer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Fish throws the left hand but Koekemoer avoids the punch easily.
Koekemoer steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Fish throws a good cross that connects.
Fish pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

and Koekemoer makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Fish takes a swing at Koekemoer's ribcage but misses.
Koekemoer pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fish crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Koekemoer - the referee stops the clock and Fish gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Koekemoer. Fish manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
We've been told by Fish's head coaches at Doom's Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Koekemoer's coach down at Besta-Fera Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Koekemoer's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Jim Fish will probably get the nod.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Koekemoer in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Koekemoer might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Fish has got the better of the exchanges.

Fish walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Fish limp body while Koekemoer jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
