Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fox Lao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teotonio Azevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lao comes to the cage accompanied by Terminator T-800 Song. Fox Lao could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Teotonio Azevedo's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lao tries a low kick but Azevedo avoids it.
Lao fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Azevedo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Azevedo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Lao is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Lao and Azevedo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You get the feeling that Lao really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Lao's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Azevedo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lao turns into him and now he's in Azevedo's guard.

Lao stands up and beckons Azevedo to join him on the feet.
Lao rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Azevedo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lao throws a leg kick which misses Azevedo's front leg but catches the back leg as Azevedo tries to avoid it.

Teotonio Azevedo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lao is pressed up against the cage. Azevedo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lao down to the mat. Lao avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
