PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Hogin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is real american. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Hogin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Dux!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hogin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dux somewhat.
Dux ducks under a wild hook from Hogin.
Dux keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dux shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hogin as he jumps to the side.
Dux looks for a takedown but Hogin sprawls well.
Hulk Hogin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Dux.

Dux shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hogin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hogin trying to control the position here.
Dux stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hogin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hogin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dux is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Dux working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hogin pulls Dux in to control the position.
Dux slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dux goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hogin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dux's guard! Nice work there by Hogin!
Dux is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hogin's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Dux wants to sweep here but Hogin controlling him for the moment.
Dux thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Dux is looking to sweep but instead, Hogin has passed into half guard.
Dux is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hogin thows a body shot but no joy.
Frank Dux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dux shoots in for a takedown but Hogin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dux takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


It looks like Frank Dux has been cut.
Dux dives in and grabs Hogin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hogin pushes down on Dux's head and hops out.
Dux looks gassed!
Nice sprawl there from Hogin as Dux shoots in.
Dux shoots in and drives through. Hogin sprawls well.
Hogin loads up on a big right hand but Dux slips the punch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hogin throws a big shot that misses.
Dux moves out of range as Hogin strikes.
Dux uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hogin.
Hogin is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Hogin's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Hogin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dux sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Dux fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hogin avoids it really well and circles away.
Hogin looks to land a left hand but Dux moved out of range nicely.
Hogin pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Dux will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Oh, that's a big right hand from Hogin and Dux goes tumbling to the canvas! Hogin follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


Dux is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hogin not doing much here.
Dux is still in real trouble! Can Hogin finish him?
Dux wants to improve his position but Hogin is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hulk Hogin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Frank Dux's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hogin measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Dux! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Hulk Hogin!
