PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mc Muffin (ranked 3525 p4p, 4363 weight class) and Hideyo Kumata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mc Muffin !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideyo Kumata!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muffin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kumata tries to clinch up but Muffin circles away and keeps his distance.
Kumata throws a body kick that misses.
As Kumata tries to get set, Muffin tries to push him back and clinch up but Kumata manages to avoid the attempt.
Kumata should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kumata lands a nice looking body kick.
Muffin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kumata will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kumata explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Kumata throws a combination that misses

and Muffin counters by moving into the clinch.
Muffin lands with a short shot to the head.
Muffin gets through Kumata's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Muffin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kumata moves out of range as Muffin strikes.
Kumata fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Muffin is looking to counter punch.
Kumata looks to land a combination but Muffin avoids it well.
Muffin tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice defenses there by Muffin .
A quick step to the side and Muffin tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kumata tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Muffin was well out of range. Poor timing from Kumata.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Muffin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Muffin throws an overhand right that lands on Kumata's shoulder, as Kumata tries to avoid the shot.
Muffin misses with a body shot.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Muffin manages to break the clinch.
Muffin swats away the attempt to clinch by Kumata.
Muffin throws an off balance right hand
and Kumata counters with a left and a right that stings Muffin .
Kumata looks winded!
Kumata throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Muffin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Muffin misses its target.
Kumata throws a nice head kick!
Hideyo Kumata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Muffin . Those never looked like landing.
Kumata tries to clinch but Muffin is having none of it.
Muffin is looking to counter the offense by Kumata and move into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kumata looks to land a combination but Muffin avoids it well.
Kumata scores with a nice body kick.
Kumata tries to clinch but Muffin moves away
and Kumata takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Muffin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kumata is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Muffin dives into side control.

Kumata really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Muffin . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Muffin cracks Kumata with a big right hand but Kumata just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Muffin has hold of Kumata's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kumata seems comfortable defending it but Muffin has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kumata is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kumata is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Muffin couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mc Muffin !
Mc Muffin decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
