The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sands clinches.
A head punch on the inside from Sands fails to land.
Sands gets underhooks to prevent Bannon's takedown attempt.
Sands dodges an elbow strike from Bannon.
Sands is pressed up against the cage. Bannon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sands down to the mat. Sands avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Bannon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sands walks away with a smile on his face. Bannon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bannon looks winded!

Sands moves into the clinch.
Bannon struggles to land a body shot inside as Sands controls his hands.
Bannon is trying to break the clinch but Sands has him pressed against the cage.
Bannon tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Bannon is looking to take this one to the mat.
Sands avoiding damage as Bannon throws knees to the body.

That has opened up James Bannon's cut even more.

Sands drops Bannon onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Bannon is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Bannon is rocked!

The cut above James Bannon's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Sands lands a left hand.
Bannon is still on wobbly legs! Can Sands finish him?
Still in the clinch, Sands scores with a nice short uppercut.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sands takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sands creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

James Bannon's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Sands dips a shoulder and cracks Bannon with a mighty uppercut! Bannon falls back against the cage and Sands unloads with a barrage of strikes! Bannon is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Sands screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
