Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Furio Spartan (ranked 5297 p4p, 22298 weight class) and Henry Bowes (ranked 518 p4p, 561 weight class). Spartan comes into the arena with This is Sparta blaring out of the sound system. Henry Bowes acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowes looks to land a right hand but Spartan moved out of range.
Furio Spartan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big left from Bowes misses.

Spartan shoots in and bounces Bowes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Spartan gets to his feet. Bowes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Spartan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bowes to the mat! Bowes manages to get full guard.
Spartan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Spartan wants to pass the guard but Bowes is keeping the position.

Spartan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Bowes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Spartan defends it easily.
Bowes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Spartan misses with a wild combination.
Bowes lands a jab to the nose.
Spartan throws a sloppy head kick and Bowes moves out of range easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Furio Spartan will probably get the nod.

Bowes moves away from the strike by Spartan.

Spartan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Bowes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Spartan tests Bowes's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Spartan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Bowes is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Spartan has denied him.
Bowes prevents the takedown attempt.

Bowes keeps control of Spartan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Spartan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bowes after a bit of a struggle.
